House Sales at Highest in Year
The number of homes sold by estate agents reached it’s highest level for more than a year during March as the property market continued to show signs of improving, recent research has shown.
The research by the National Association of Estate Agents showed that estate agents agreed an average of 8.43 sales each during the month, the highest number since November 2007 and the third month in a row that sales levels have risen.
Jonathan Waters, of Jonathan Waters Estate Agents in Ipswich / Clacton-on-Sea, confirmed the trend.
We have seen a continual increase in activity since the start of the new year and each much has been busier than the last in the terms of the number of people looking for property and registering their details with us.
In April and so far in May this growth has accelerated still further which shows excellent signs for a continued improvement.
Jonathan commented “We have now seen four and a half months activity at much greater levels than 2008 so it is clear that this is not just an overnight thing, and bodes well for 2009 as a whole.”
Business has improved to such an extent that Jonathan has also been able to buck the trend of the last 18 months and taken fresh staff on to cope with the increased demand.
