Estate Agency Celebrates Ten Years Success!

Jonathan Waters Estate Agents east Ipswich office is ten years old this year!

It was 1999 that Jonathan took the brave step of opening an out of town estate agency in Ipswich at the very busy roundabout on the junction of Foxhall Road, Bixley Road and Heath Road.

“Many people raised an eyebrow at this brave, or perhaps foolhardy, move.”  Jonathan explained. “There had been an estate agents office on this roundabout in the past which were not successful and quickly closed.  I think at the time a lot of people expected us to do the same but our timing was far more fortunate. The agents that were here before were in the real dark days of the 1988 – 1993 period when things were incredibly tough."

When Jonathan opened his Ipswich venture, a lot of people didn’t realise two other deciding key factors.  The first was that Jonathan was a local Ipswich person having been born and brought up on the Australian estate opposite Ipswich Hospital in Heath Road.  Having attended Britannia Primary School and the then Northgate Grammar School as well as Suffolk College, Jonathan had the best part of 35 years experience of living in the Ipswich area.  As such his local working knowledge of the area and the benefits of living in the area were unmatched in the town.

The other thing that a lot of people didn’t realise is that Jonathan Waters Estate Agents wasn’t a new company.  Jonathan himself had started Jonathan Waters Estate Agents in the absolute depths of the housing market depression in early 1992 where he had achieved considerable success with two offices in the Clacton on Sea area.  Therefore, came to Ipswich with seven years experience of having his own company in addition to having previously worked in the industry for a corporate estate agent.

Success swiftly in east Ipswich followed also as a result of bringing on board a number of highly experienced local staff.

“The last piece in the jigsaw is something I can lay any credit for myself at all" commented Jonathan “which is the timing of the opening of our east Ipswich office which turned out to be pure luck in respect that 1999 was the year that the housing market in Ipswich really exploded into life having continued to be in relative slumber mode since the end of the previous downturn.”

Very quickly after opening the east Ipswich branch, Jonathan Waters Estate Agents were established as the agent of choice for anyone buying and selling in the Ipswich area and success has continued unabated ever since.

In 2003 Jonathan also made the decision to also service the remainder of the town by opening an office in the town centre at 35 Buttermarket just opposite British Home Stores.

The two office marketing that we have been able to offer since again has proved a winning formula.  For anyone whose property is in east Ipswich then we can ensure that theirs is one of the first a potential buyers would see regardless of which office they contact first.

Jonathan continued “Its great that our tenth year anniversary has coincided with the market picking up to the extent that it has so far in 2009 which, at this rate, could well turn out to be our most successful year yet.
