Jonathan Waters

Jonathan was born and has lived in the East Ipswich area all his life, you can’t get much more local than that. He was educated at Britannia Primary school, Northgate Grammar School and the Suffolk College and over the years he has witnessed massive change and development in the East Ipswich area. Well qualified for entry into the estate agency profession, having previously worked in the planning department at Suffolk Coastal District Council dealing with the original planning applications for the very same housing developments that are now so much a part of the East Ipswich area. Having worked for several years for a large corporate estate agency in Ipswich he became disillusioned with their true objectives and started his own business in 1991/92 to offer a level of customer and client service that cannot possibly be matched by a much larger company.
His lifelong campaign to see the public having a much higher opinion of the estate agency profession has seen Jonathan actively involved in new legislation, training and the qualification of his staff. He has been Chairman of the Guild of Independent Estate Agents and Chairman of the North East Essex Consumers and House Moving Panel.
Although he manages the occasional game of golf as a member at Rushmere, these days Jonathan devotes much of his limited spare time to his young family. |

Jayne Staff

Manager/Snr. Valuer

Having always worked in sales
and in the estate agency profession, most of this time has been spent with larger, corporate estate agents including branch support and management locally. Like many that have come to join the team here, Jayne became disillusioned within a corporate estate agency preferring the much higher level of professional and personal service that an independent is able to offer.
Jayne has two daughters Gemma and Zara. She spends most of her spare time renovating her cottage. |

Alan Mann

Alan has been with Jonathan Waters for a number of years having first made his mark within the company as a top sales negotiator. Alan then went through Jonathan’s personal, extensive valuation training programme and has excelled in this field ever since.
Alan is married and has three children and when not spending his free time with his family Alan enjoys going to his local gym three times a week. |

Carolyn Barwick

Carolyn started working at Jonathan Waters Estate Agents as a Sales Negotiator and after extensive in-house training is now a fully fledged Valuer.
Hobbies include digital photography, wine, shoes and handbags. With previous careers within retail she likes to follow current fashion trends and loves to shop.
She enjoys spending her spare time with her family and two black cats! |

Michelle is living proof that you just can't better Jonathan Waters Estate Agents! Having originally joined us at our Clacton office six years ago, Michelle left us after relocating. After making the move to Ipswich we were delighted she returned to us as a Senior Negotiator, using the highly tuned skills she'd learnt with us previously. When not working with us Michelle spends her free time renovating her property with her fiancee, Rob. |

Cherill Tietjen

Cherill got into estate agency straight from
leaving school and having got two years
experience under her belt the lure of the travel industry called and she spent the next ten years selling and promoting cruise holidays.
Having set up her own business within the cruise industry for four years, Cherill started her family and two young daughters later has returned to her first love of estate agency.
Cherill has a great sense of humour and spends her free time with her daughters and socialising with friends and family. |

Julie Clennell

What Julie doesn’t know about the Ipswich housing market probably isn’t worth knowing having worked through the highs and lows of the housing market over the last 30 years.
Julie now operates our highly successful Buttermarket office and her friendly, professional nature together with her wealth of knowledge means she is a key member of our sales team.
Living locally with her husband, Julie enjoys spending time with her family. |

Jenna Arnold

Jenna brings over 12 years estate agency experience to the team, and has been with Jonathan since the opening of our Buttermarket office in 2003. Previously Jenna has also worked within corporate estate agency in Ipswich.
Her local knowledge of the area, particularly south west Ipswich, where she was brought up, is the best in the business.
In her free time Jenna enjoys music, socialising and her new puppy. |

James has worked within estate agency for a number of years following a six year service in the army.
James has worked for both large corporate estate agents and was drawn to the Jonathan Waters independent approach to the industry which he feels allows a far superior level of customer care to be achieved.
In his spare time James is learning to play golf and is busy training his young border collie and has also recently become a father for the first time. |

Jayne assists Jonathan in many areas of his day to day working with particular input into the adminstration of the in house marketing.

Anne has worked in estate agency for almost 20 years having met Jonathan Waters when they worked together in the boom of the 1980’s.
Anne is a full time Mum to her 17 year old son Ben and enjoys singing with her rock star husband....! During working hours, though, her singing is confined to the kitchen and bathroom. Her outgoing personality and sense of humour help in the often highly stressful arena of house moving. |

Jackie brings several years sales co-ordinating experience to our Sales Co-ordinating team, having previously worked within a large corporate estate agent. Jackie is another convert to the independent approach to estate agency and is enjoying the customer focus this enables.
Jackie is married and in her spare time enjoys tennis, horse riding, eating out, interior design and perhaps most importantly - shopping! |

Karen Ward

Sales Co-ordinating Team |
Karen is a local girl, having attended Sidegate Lane Primary, Copleston High and Suffolk College.
Starting her career working in Felixtowe for Fisons Fertilizers. Karen then went on to work for a local firm of solicitors, for 21 years, in the conveyancing department; she therefore has a wealth of experience in the process of buying and selling houses.
Karen has co-presented a children’s radio show and also worked a Christmas at Butlins in Bognor, spent time as a medic in the territorial army and ran a half marathon over the Orwell Bridge for Cancer Relief.
Mother of two to Anneka and Oliver, when she is not down the gym or socialising Karen, like most mothers, spends time being a taxi driver to her kids! |

Diane joined us from a long career in the design department of the East Anglian Daily Times.
Diane has brought with her a wealth of experience and works closely with Jonathan, enabling him to free up his valuable time.
Diane spends her free time with her young daughter and enjoys eating out and socialising locally. |

Design & Marketing

Jane has worked within estate agency for over eleven years and before that
had a ten year career in the advertising and marketing industry. Jane puts her combined experience to good use turning round all our
literature, both day to day and promotional as well as helping to ensure
that when someone thinks of estate agents they think of Jonathan Waters.
In her free time Jane lives locally with her husband and two young daughters
and enjoys aerobics, walking holidays,
travel and cookery - she's a dab hand at novelty cakes! |
